May 10th, 2012 ROTARY SUPPORT ARRIVE ALIVE
At the Presidents Elect Training Seminar in Colesberg, the Rotary Club of Viljoenskroon issued a challenge to all other clubs in District 9320 to support the Arrive Alive campaign over Easter.
As so many lives are lost on our roads during Easter, the Rotary Club of De Aar decided to support this campaigh 100%.
1. Don’t drink and drive.
2. Buckle up
3. Don’t overload.
4. Make sure your vechile is roadworthy before starting your journey.
5. Have a good rest before you embark on your journey.
6. Try to avoid driving after dark if possible.
7. Take a break every 2 hours.
8. Plan the route to your holiday destination and give yourself enough time to reach the destination.
9. Be vigilant for pedestrians and cyclists.
10. Be visible – drive with your lights on.
11 Stay within the speedlimit at all times.
12. Maintain a 2 second following distance which should increase at night and in rainy conditions.
13. Be courteous.
14. Be alert to changing road and weather conditions.
15. Only overtake when it absolutely safe to do so.
16. Always obey the rules of the road and carry your drivers license with you.
